Eden Gardens Engagement Session & Foggy Beach Sunset | 30A Couples Photographer
One of my favorite parts of my wedding packages is that they include either an engagement session or night‑before wedding coverage.
Not only does it give couples beautiful photos before their wedding day, but it also gives us the chance to work together, get comfortable, and build a connection before the big day.
This session was extra special because this couple is one of my 2026 brides, and I’ll be photographing their wedding this October.
Getting to spend time together before the wedding makes such a difference. By the time the wedding day arrives, it already feels like we know each other — which makes the entire experience more relaxed and natural.

Starting the Session at Eden Gardens
We started their engagement session at Eden Gardens State Park, which is one of the most beautiful locations along 30A for photos.
Between the towering oak trees, historic southern architecture, and vibrant greenery, it’s the perfect setting for couples who want something timeless and romantic.
The gardens were glowing in the afternoon light, and walking through the brick pathways with the historic home in the background created the dreamiest backdrop.
It felt classic, elegant, and full of that southern charm Eden Gardens is known for.

Heading to the Beach for Sunset
After exploring Eden Gardens, we headed to the beach to finish the session during sunset.
The plan was simple — soft golden light, waves rolling in, and relaxed portraits along the shoreline.
But as soon as we pulled up to the beach, it was like we drove straight into a wall of fog.
The entire beach was completely covered.
The air was wet, the fog was thick, and the horizon had almost disappeared into the mist.
At first we weren’t sure what to expect.
But sometimes the unexpected creates the most beautiful moments.

When the Weather Creates the Magic
Instead of the typical golden sunset beach photos, the fog created a completely different atmosphere.
The beach felt quiet, dreamy, and almost cinematic.
The soft mist blurred the horizon and wrapped everything in this calm, moody light that gave the photos such a unique feeling.
And honestly, they ended up being some of my favorite images from the entire session.
The movement, the softness, and the emotion between them felt even more powerful in that foggy setting.
It was proof that sometimes the most unexpected conditions create the most beautiful photos.

Why I Love Engagement Sessions Before the Wedding
Sessions like this are exactly why I love including engagement sessions in my wedding packages.
It gives couples the opportunity to:
• Get comfortable in front of the camera
• Learn how I guide and pose naturally
• Feel relaxed before their wedding day
• Build a connection with their photographer
By the time their wedding arrives in October, they’ll already know what to expect and feel completely comfortable working together.
And that always leads to the most genuine, natural photos.

Looking Ahead to Their Wedding Day
After spending this evening together between the gardens and the foggy beach, I’m even more excited to photograph their wedding later this year.
If their wedding day feels anything like this session — relaxed, joyful, and full of connection — it’s going to be something really special.
